Redken Symposium
In January, Susan had the privilege of attending Redken's
Bi-Annual event,
The Redken Symposium
in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This is a large scale convention, with classes throughout the
day and product specials for it's attendees.
Susan took advanced color and design classes, as well as
business seminars.
The trends at this time in the hair industry are styles with
natural volume and strategically placed color that can move
from day into night with some simple adjustments to your
styling technique.
Dis-connection is very hot right now. That means that the hair
is cut in sections, not always blending, but creating the look
you desire. Looks that are sleek and "Deflated" are hard to
achieve on  excessively thick hair, so dis-connection allows
us to create these looks.
Styling techniques are very important. It is imperative that a
stylists shows clients how to achieve the look he/she creates
in the salon when they get home. One haircut can produce a
multitude of looks. Keep in mind, you may not need a new cut,
you may only need a style lesson!
Amici Salon helps to raise money for childhood cancer
research with
The St Baldricks' Foundation
On March 8th, Sue and Carrie  joined forces with over a
dozen volunteers and a few dozen (or more!) brave souls
who  decided to "get bald"
for the cause.
We shaved volunteers at the Southwick Inn while  listening
to live Irish music, cheered on by a great group of friends
and supporters. There were raffle prizes and a guest
speaker to explain just what our donations go to and how
badly they are needed.
We all know that these are trying times, and it may be more
difficult to be charitable, but never is it needed more than
now. Even though the event is over, you can still make a
contribution. All donations go directly to support childhood
cancer research, because this is a 100% volunteer event.
We just do it for the kids!
Not to mention how fun it is to shave all those brave ladies
and gentlemen! Yes, we get ladies, too!
Tell your friends, spread the word, join us next year and
help us make it the most successful St Baldricks' yet!! Watch
our web site for details or check it out,  sign up to be a
shavee or volunteer at

We had fun dressing up as
go-go dancers for
Halloween! I always
wanted to be a blond! I
think this cured me!
